WHO ARE WE?

NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC MOVEMENT

Our party is the National Democratic Movement (NDM) which is one of the political parties in South Sudan. The party espouses social democratic principles and programmes. It was established in 2016 following the fighting that took place in the State House in Juba, and published its Political Statement (Manifesto) in August the same year. The party pursues the attainment of its objectives by peaceful democratic means.

WHO CAN BECOME A MEMBER?

The party is open to all South Sudanese, regardless of gender, origin, race, or belief.

     1- is 18 years and older;
     2- of sound mind; and
     3- believes in the objectives, policies, and program of the party and shall strive to attain them. Members enjoy rights, undertake duties, and meet obligations.

WHAT DO WE STAND FOR?

Our Ten-Point Programme gives a glimpse of what we stand for:

1. Unite the masses of our people and build alliances to wage a struggle.
in order to attain the objectives of the national democratic
revolution;
2. Guarantee and uphold all basic rights and fundamental freedoms;
3. Build a national professional army and other security organs;
4. Establish an independent, federal, and democratic state;
5. Strive to build a self-reliant and self-sufficient economy;
6. Implement an agricultural policy based on the transformation of
traditional farming and rural production through modernization and
expansion of agriculture and industrialization;
7. Commit to a comprehensive social program to render basic
services to our people;
8. Develop a national culture that derives from our rich diversity;
9. Empower women to assume their rightful role in society;
10. Adopt an independent foreign policy that promotes global peace.
