the National Democratic Movement (NDM) in South Sudan, a party founded in 2016, committed to social democratic principles and peaceful democratic methods.

Vision

The movement seeks to consolidate freedoms and implement reforms in the economic sectors, in addition to focusing on educating children and girls and combating illiteracy in the Country.

OBJECTIVES OF AND MEANS ADOPTED BY THE MOVEMENT

The principal objectives of the Movement shall be:

  1. Liberation of the people of South Sudan from injustice, oppression, discrimination, tribalism, cultural domination, humiliation and all kinds of negative concepts and practices practised by the successive governments of the SPLM/A since 2005.
  2. Practice of multi-party democracy and peaceful rotation of power.
  3. Respect of institutions, supremacy of the rule of law, separation of powers and independence of the judiciary;
  4. Justice, equity and equality among all citizens regardless of ethnic background, religion, region, gender or language, and that citizenship shall be the only basis of rights and duties;
  5. Promotion, protection and respect of human rights and fundamental freedoms as stipulated in the international and regional conventions and covenants;
  6. Transparency, accountability and good governance;
  7. Adoption of a social contract agreed upon by all South Sudanese people based on unified will and shared history between its constituents that form its elements and contemporary historical reality;
  8. Establishment of a system of governance and administration that respects diversity and founded on political, cultural, social and economic democracy that constitutes the core of the national project to build the state;
  9. Establishment of a free democratic federal parliamentary system of governance based on the free will and popular participation of all the people of South Sudan;
  10. New federal constitutional arrangements to rebuild on the based of constitutions.
  11. Attainment of a sustained balanced development that satisfies the basic needs of the citizens and preserves the ecosystem;
  12. Reduction of poverty level and the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
  13. Protecting and promoting the rights of women and children, persons of special needs , youth and students.
  14. Promotion of scientific research and adoption of appropriate technology;
  15. Recognition of the cultural, linguistic, ethnic and religious diversity of our people and the right of each ethnic, religious and linguistic group to enjoy its peculiar culture and its religious practices and use their language and the state should promote and develop them;
  16. Self-reliance and attainment of economic self-sufficiency;
  17. Adoption of a foreign policy based on mutual respect and interests among nations, promotes regional and international cooperation, preserves global peace and security and fights terrorism and money laundering;
  18. Protection and preservation of the environment and sustainable utilization of natural resources and preserve the rights of the coming generations;
